I think it's a whopping big slug that it's sniffing Cherry, the slugs & snails congregate there where I put out food for the hedgehogs & birds. The camera takes quite good black & white photos, that one was just before it switches to colour in daylight mode, I think the black & white makes the garden look a lot better than it is in real life!

Could Henry sleep in your room with you at your daughter's Geranium? Would this stop his distress? Of course this could set a precedent. No, because we usually stay up the hill in a hotel while the family look after Henry. There isn't room in their house for everyone. It looks likely that we'll travel down just for Christmas Day - a lot of driving, but a compromise. That is - unless his meds help!

We always stay in a Premier hotel when we visit my husband's family. The children are to wild to spend the night with.

I'm sorry to hear Henry is not doing so well, but I have some happy pet news I don't know if you'll remember me posting, at the end of August, that Bertie the baby tortoise (60 grams or so!) had serious Pneumonia. It looked very bad for 2/3 weeks, in fact we thought he'd had it - he could barely breath, couldn't eat/drink, he was on all sorts of meds, treatments and injections. He also had to be separated from his brother Timmy, and had his own Intensive Care unit in the kitchen. But he has made a pretty miraculous recovery (they rarely do) and this week, after 2 months separation, he is back 'home' with Tim and doing well in time for his first birthday next month. His breathing still isn't perfect - we think it might be some time before his lungs are totally fluid free - so we are still being careful. It was such a long haul, we are almost afraid to think he is now ok! We still have not the foggiest idea how he got Pneumonia, which is a bit worrying, but we're hoping it was very much just a weird 'one off.'

Henry's meds are definitely helping him - we've had several non-howling nights. (Not last night - I was down at 3 with him. ) Such a strange thing happened yesterday evening - he was lying quietly on the sitting room carpet and suddenly yelped and ran to me. He was trembling and wanted lots of cuddles before he was OK again. We could only think he'd been stung but we couldn't see anything. Poor Henry!

I was wondering that too @hywel & Geranium , our dog used to sometimes wake up with a start & look around as though she wasn't sure where she was.

Awe poor Henry, possibly dreaming like SueA mentioned. Our Bob is still as mad as ever, we can only laugh when he's dreaming, even lying in bed at night in the darkness, as we're trying to get to sleep Bob is out comatose lol long before us and shortly after the dreaming begins, the noises are hilarious.
I do hope Henry's ok

Glad to hear Bob is doing well KC, has he worked his way out of the shed & into your bedroom now then? Our dog used to snore like a train so she slept in the kitchen with the door shut where we couldn't hear her, she used to dream a lot too & go into full 'paws running, muttering, body twitching mode' in her sleep on the rug in front of the fire.
