What lovely markings on Lily's fur, Cherry. Thank you, SueA and @hywel - we've just got to be patient and hope the meds make a difference. As he is, we couldn't take him to our daughter's for Christmas. They have close neighbours apart from family staying. We may have to have our own Christmas at home this year. Henry loves sticks, too, grindle - he walks along 'pruning' bits off as he goes!

Could Henry sleep in your room with you at your daughter's Geranium? Would this stop his distress? Of course this could set a precedent.

Lily is lovely now. Lovely Lily never scratches, is completely trusting, and has a regular routine. She is too light and small to catch much, but chases rabbits and kills mice. I think just her smell is a deterrent, because we have never had a rat since Lily arrived. She loves her bed, but I can't find the cat hottie in the attic, so I will need to order a new one from Amazon. I use the microwaveable hard one which is scratchproof and covered. Atticus used to sit out and wait until I put it in.

Lily looks as though she's put a bit of weight on now as well Cherry, she was quite underweight when you first got her wasn't she. I can imagine her looking at you & waiting for her hot water bottle to be put in too!

I can tell that you miss having a cat SueA. Lily is skinny, but that seems to be the way of the Bengal cats. She eats well. She is definitely more relaxed and knows the rules now.

I talk to all the cats & dogs in the neighbourhood Cherry ! There are a couple of young cats who regularly come in the garden, I think they live in the bungalows round the corner, one has a look of Lily, it's a slinky darker tabby striped cat which comes up to me now to see what I'm doing when I'm gardening but I'm worried about encouraging it because it's a real hunter & is always trying to catch birds & frogs by hiding in the borders. I don't want another pet though either at least for a few years.

What is it sniffing? It is a pretty cat and your garden looks quite different in the dark. It looks fabulous.
