My two cats have discovered my Carex flagellifera They have taken to making a bed out of them Consequently, the plants no longer sit up and sway nicely but are flat and lifeless and look like a squashed doughnut The Stipa tenuissima get pounced on and 'killed' but somehow they don't stay flat Hey ho ! Only pet owners would put up with such naughtiness

I had Carex buchananii which is silky to the touch, and Killercat jumped in it and just loved it. Cats must like these grasses.

Just an update-Jacks leg wasnt healing right.Was bent out at an angle after x rays found he had got damaged growth plates.Had operation today to insert staple in leg which should help to correct it.Goes back in 4 weeks to have it removed. Poor little man hasnt complained once.

My Australian grandchildren used to have guinea pigs and feed them on guinea grass. I would not help them to pick it because of the snakes and enormous cane toads. They had quite a few and they were very pretty.
