Not sure of the accuracy of this (it was in the Sun) but a man fell from a cliff and his Labradoodle ran to a pub and barked until people followed it to the scene. Very intelligent and touching. My Barnaby would probably make his way down to see me

Jrae I used to keep Saanen and Toggenburg goats. I loved them to bits. I won't ever do this again because they are worse than dogs for attention and mine would hold up their milk if they were being milked when we were away. Cherry, I've observed that goats are picky. The only people who can milk them is hubby and one of our farm guys. Plus the goats think everything that I stick in the ground needs a taste test

My dogs would never let us swim. 2 of our labs were dropouts from the K9 Academy and they can't tell the difference between people swimming and people drowning. If someone tries to take a swim when they're around those 2 labs would get into the water and pull him/her out. When we go to the beach which is an hour's drive away, they have to be left at home or we won't get to swim.

We had two camcorder tapes put on CD and enjoyed 1/2 hours footage of Barnaby as a puppy as well as holiday footage of our previous dog Toddy, well worth £30! Dear little Toddy has gone and Barnaby is seven now but it was so nice to see them. The two young people in it have aged a bit !

We were swimming in a deep waterhole in the high country in Victoria and my springer kept circling and barking at the edge. She was quite annoying, and I thought I should leave her next time, but there turned out to be a snake at the edge and there were some people who would not go in unless the dog was there. I don't know about the snakes in The Philippines, but all snakes in Australia are venomous, very.

I have a friend who lost their labrador when it sailed over a high cliff when they were out on a walk once, some dogs are definately brighter than others (Bit like people really !)

I've just seen this clip posted on another forum, it shows a little dog having the tables turned on it by the family cat .... at first i thought it sad (for the dog) but as they all live together they would know each other well and it's probably give-and-take there www.youtube.com/embed/c0Xa29WnzCE

What a baby. That is quite funny.
A dog can go over a cliff like that. My springer in Australia did this and I was in a dreadful state and quite a bit later, while we were working out how to get around to the bottom of the cliff, the paws came over the top. It was at Wilson's Promontory, Victoria. Maggie was not normal. She was sent to try us. This is the one that was guarding us from snake attack and her mother and aunt died from a venomous bite after attacking what is known as a "brown" snake in Victoria. They were bitten by the same snake.

Some dogs are definitely better than others. But some are smart enough to use it to get attention. The shih tzu we have (my daughter's pet) is such a smart ass. One time she was limping and we took her to the vet to have her examined. She went home with a cast and was excessively pampered for a month or so. Now every time she wants attention she cries and walks around pretending to have a limp so she gets picked up and cuddled and fed treats . All of the people who visit us at the house fall for it everytime. Once I ignored her as I was on the phone and when I turned around she was already crawling probably pretending to have all legs broken.

I was saddened too Floydie, but i'm thinking that they're all in the same family and they were just playing and messing around - you know, one torments the other and the chased one goes around screaming for help. At least i hope it was like that.
