How's Henry Geranium? 8 years is not very old, one of my labs is already 12 he's not as frisky when he was younger and already has problems with one ear but he's still a very sociable dog. That is a nice cat Steve N. My cat Carla hates being outdoors, is always sleeping on the couch. But we have lots of strays that hang around the place.

He's a sad dog. I really hope that they'll find out exactly what the problem is - we've booked him in for the first day 'his' vet is on duty. Poor Henry has to have regular blood tests as he developed epilepsy a couple of years ago. Last time, he sat down and refused to go with the nurse. 'His' vet had no problems with him, so we've requested that he deals with Henry from now on.

Keep us posted about Henry's health Geranium. I know a dog with epilepsy. He has it quite badly.
On the other hand, SteveN's cat is in rude health and looking very pretty.

Atticus caught four rabbits that I know about and one mouse yesterday. He ate two whole rabbits, leaving me to get rid of two. He is turning out to be a terrific rabbit catcher and even caught a mole, but he won't eat these. At night, he puts rabbits into the kennel for the dogs. Of course I can't let the dogs have them, so I have to throw them a long way off for the crows and maggies. I took the dogs out at 0500 hrs today and Atticus was eating a rabbit again. It really is like The Killing Fields here.

I think it is inbred and they would all do this if the rabbits were there. Some are definitely better than others, as this is obvious with the cats in this area. I think Atticus was a home cat as he had two top teeth out when he came to us from the cat home. This looks like the result of tinned food and he had to get used to hard dry cat food which we buy by the large bag. He had to learn his craft and can now pare the rabbit properly instead of eating the whole lot including disgusting bits.
When I walk the dogs, the cat always comes. I might have told you this before. The dogs get treats when they get back and the cat has to have some too. He sleeps in the dog kennel at night.
He still has his food in the Nissen hut so we can leave here for days at a time and know he is happy on his own. If he was relying on soft food from the house, he would need to be fed by a neighbour when we are away.

We won't know the results from Henry's tests until next week. The one for ringworm takes 12 days! He's not a happy dog. I just want them to get on with his treatment now. He was at the hospital all day. He refused to go in the treatment room - OH had to force him in. His epilepsy is under control, but the insurance premium has rocketed since last year.

I have had to get used to the fact that Aquila has gone. I just hope she is happy, healthy and getting fed. I asked the farmers nearby, but she has not been seen. Her appearances were scarce and then she just disappeared.

that's a shame Cherry, unfortunately that is the thing with cats, if they don't want to be there, they won't stay. Hope they sort Henry out ok G Dylan has to go in for tests on Monday, he's having a problem with his ear which isn't clearing up, also he's having a minor behaviour problem, so they want to rule anything medical before we take it further
