Grindle, I have to use Canaural drops in the dogs' ears every now and then. I use it for a week or so until I feel as if they are OK.
We have two dogs with best wishes now. I hope Henry will feel better and Dylan's ears prove to be good.
By the way, the cat has just caught his second rabbit for today. At least he disposes of it quickly. There are dozens more here, but unlike Killer Cat, our last one, Atticus sticks to small rabbits, so I suppose the big ones are still breeding.

Atticus only walked to the orchard and flopped with all that rabbit inside him. The dogs walked a long way and we met the cat on the way back. I could have collapsed with the cat, but the dogs need the exercise and so do I.

Best wishes to Dylan & Henry for their tests! Cherry you paint a great picture of you all traipsing off for a walk together, Atticus really does sound as though he thinks he's a dog! ;D

I will see if I can get a picture of all the animals coming for their walk. The strip looks great at present. It has poppies and tall white daisies down one side of the strip and bulrushes down the drain side. Reed warblers make a lovely noise in the sedge but I have never seen them. I have seen their nests late in the year.

Dylan's back home, they've found he had a deep ear infection, but also they have discovered a small hole in his eardrum, we have to wait for the results back from the lab to see what antibiotics he needs and what the blood tests say, his hearing will be affected I have to wait to speak to the vet to find out more

Poor Dylan! Is this a birth defect or due to the infection? Henry has to go on antibiotics too - we have to collect them this morning. Then he's got to go back into hospital for more tests on Friday. They still can't say what's causing his skin problem - they've said it could be hormonal, an allergy, bacterial, fungal - guess what - they don't know!

not sure yet G, but from what I've been reading possibly due to the infection. Hope they get Henry sorted out, yep, skin problems always seem to be difficult to pinpoint

Poor Dylan, hope his hearing isn't too badly affected. Geranium, our female boxer dog developed a dry bare patch on each of her sides when she was about 4 or 5 & they never got to the bottom of the problem, it's apparently quite common in breeds such as boxers & dobermans & can be hormonal. The vet ended up giving her thyroxine tablets which she took every day but although the patches improved they never completely went away but didn't seem to bother her. Hope they get to the bottom of Henry's problem.

So do I - he's obviously very uncomfortable. He's started on his antibiotics now, which the vet said should help - might even be a cure if we're lucky.

Poor Dylan. I don't think this could be avoided. If it makes you feel any better, they learn about their 'deaf' ear very early. The one they turn on and off. I think he will still here the dish clink when it is time for food. I am sorry though.
Henry is a different matter. I hope he can be treated and soon looks his beautiful self.
