Atticus used to have a worm tablet almost thrown at him with the dogs. Lily, has been wrapped in a towel and even with thick gloves she is terrifying. We just could not manage it and I have tried all the things you are going to tell me about. Now I am buying a spot on wormer from the vet, probably Profender. Has anyone tried this and what were the results like?

I haven't tried the spot on wormer Cherry but it sounds like a good idea & should work as the spot on flea treatment usually does. I used to try all sorts to get worm tablets in the dog & the cat as neither would let you get them in their mouths, I usually ended up hiding them in a squashy treat/piece of cheese etc. or their food but the dog quite often spat them out if she could taste or smell them!

Our cat Amber is horrible to give any pills to. I now use Drontal worming paste - the sort you get in a tiny tube and squeeze into their mouths. Even if they don't want to take it, they can't spit it out, and they still have to lick it off if they get it all over them! It's easier than a pill anyway.

We are even past this method Bess. We might be able to put a little in during a snarl and hiss but it is too difficult.

Poor Henry will be off to the vet's tomorrow morning because he keeps being sick. He doesn't like the hyper-allergenic food he's on, either. Most unusual to see a Lab turning his nose up at food! (He eats it eventually...)

The vet practice nurse insisted on Lily being seen and weighed. I said I would weigh her, but this was not suitable. I took her in and was taken into a cat-proof room and she actually went out of this room to lock another door. She weighed Lily in her bag and it was zipped up tight. The nurse wasn't game enough to let her out. Poor Lily was not even looked at, except through an inch of open zip. When she comes in for her tea, she will have the Profender applied and I hope she will put on some weight. Poor Henry. That is not good. Please let us know how he gets on Geranium.

Poor Henry Geranium , maybe he needs to be examined again properly. Labs usually do eat anything don't they, my sis-in-law was just telling me today that they're taking their lab on holiday to Cornwall in a few weeks & he 'shows her up' when they take him for lunch after they've been on the beach - he's usually sick outside the pub as he swallows so much seawater playing in the sea!

Lily probably looked too 'wild' because of her markings Cherry apart from her behaviour & I bet that put the nurse off, Lily needs more handling though so that she gets used to it, they sound as if they're well prepared though with a 'cat-proof' room!

SueA the nurse did not get to see Lily at all. She could only see her through an inch of open zip. Only 1 inch of cat was visible. So much for a check-up. She is fine at home now. Perfectly quiet and well behaved and is not snacking all day anymore. Life is more interesting and she takes herself off around her haunts, but she does like human company now.

Not quite Rosie. Lily thinks I have problems. She is perfectly happy with her worms and would rather not be cleaned out. I don't think she has ever been wormed. She is 5 years old I found out on her chip.
