This came up in the quiz tonight. This is a picture taken a few years ago of some flowers in parents garden.

Yes, seems completely hardy. This last winter has not effected it this year. Flower buds coming along nicely.

I've got one of those in my garden, mine is more orange. Last winter didn't hurt mine.

They are lovely and quite big. There was one across the road from me in Oxfordshire and it used to seed into the lawn some years.

that's a pretty one, I did have one in my last garden, but moved before it flowered, I expect it's been ripped out now

Thats lovely Steve, love the colour. I always want stuff like this but am always wary about them surviving this far north

Seriously Rosie, once they get their feet down, they will take a very hard winter with some impunity. The key is a warm sunny spot to get them to flower. Walls being better than fences and more exposed arches etc, so sorry Peony, might still be fine once established.
