We've been pondering over whether to have a seat by the pond for some time and yesterday we spotted one when buying yet more plants! It's just the ticket as it's not heavy and you doesn't obscure any plants. Tht first thing we saw were 'boatmen but then these, little shiny black beetles that darted about without creating ripples, I couldn't tell if they were swimming or flying, anyone know what they are?

The seat looks to be in the perfect spot there Merlin, a lovely area, a perfect place to sit on a lovely sunny day, with a glass of real ale.

Rust is sooo 'in', Blossom! ;D Merlin's seat would be very fashionable! It looks as though it's always been there, Merlin - great buy.

Brilliant, I knew you would get one, ponds are so facinating.
Your beetles are 'Whirligig beetles'

Brilliant, I knew you would get one, ponds are so facinating. Your beetles are 'Whirligig beetles' Thanks WF, I kinda knew you would know, but it's an obvious name isn't it. Yes the seat does look 'right' but now I'm thinking about painting all the garden arches the same colour Blossom, yes it will rust, from the inside eventually but it cleverly folds away sort of flat pack style by simply undoing 2 bolts, so I can store it away in winter.
