I found these feathers on the lawn this morning, they look as though they have been plucked from the bird. I wondered whether the culprit might be a Sparrowhawk. What do you think?

The feather shafts still have the outer sheath on them too so whatever it was (guessing Pigeon), it was a young recently fledged.

Just spotted the Green Bottle fly in the image. Probably feeding on the blood from the plucked feathers. This birds feathers are still partly enclosed at the base so probably not very good a flying either. Shame

The whole area of feathers was covered in flies and also wasps. It is a shame, but the Sparrowhawks are much rarer around here than pigeons

The Sparrowhawk has all the Collared Doves here, and yes, the leftover piles look just like this
