Copied and pasted from the old forum, some of it will not make any sense, because copying and pasting does not move the pics with it.
Called down to the allotment this morning, to have a look and see how many blooms had marked with the damp overnight, fortunately not many.
There is rain forecast again overnight, so its fingers crossed they is a few to cut tomorrow, for the Harden Beck Show on Sunday.
I may have a vase of Debs Kiwi one of the varieties that Lou sent me to look after.

There's plenty there to "get your teeth into" Esther. Your schedules are similar to the show I exhibit at....I'm sure a few of us could start you off with some cuttings in the Spring

This is supposed to be a plant of "Deborah's Kiwi"...all the rest are as normal. I have this in one of the mixed beds at the lottie..I think it was a spare tuber from last year. The plant itself seems to be a bit "stunted"....as are the flower stems. Any ideas Tel..? Apart from the fact that the earwigs have been having a party...lol
also....
Any idea what this one is...its not one that I ordered..

The first pic looks like a waterlily, but if i were you, i would destroy it, stunted growth sounds like a virus.
The second pic, it could be one of many, could you look on the sites you bought any dahlias from and see if they have a pic of it.

Harden Beck has 9 classes for dahlias, 2 of those are for medium varieties, i have not grown any for shows this year. With luck i may have an entry in the other 7 classes including the 3 vase Harden Beck Challenge, i am trying to defend that trophy, plus silver medal this year for the 3rd time.

There were 5 good entries in the Championship Class so far, when i left after staging this morning.
I asked the Show Secretary who the Dahlia Judge is, he replied they could not get one, so the Flower Judge will be judging the dahlias, so anything could win the Championship.
