I don't cry a lot either, but i can get Graham going good.. ;D ;D What can I say. He must be a really nice softie. Oh Rosie, I don't know what you must be. Actually, I am on an assertive push at the moment and it is working.

I get tears in my eyes if it's something to do with children - be it something happy or something sad. I just can't look .... Typical "man" ? - my dad was the same. My mother nor Beryl ever cry But I had a laugh at this list lol

Actually, I am on an assertive push at the moment and it is working. He is a big softie, he cries at ice age etc etc. And of course it is my duty to wind him up about it,you know dutiful wife and all that stuff ;D ;D I don't know about me either Cherry ;D ;D

Even though it's only August and this thread was meant as a shocker, a lot of people i meet and see are actually talking about xmas in a serious way and it's surprised me Folks are thinking about the related costs, the weather we'll be experiencing and so on ..... I think last years weather has put an altogether new spin on the whole period now

Bought 3 xmas cards today I was buying a birthday card, saw the xmas ones and got them as i saw them - i didn't go with the intention of buying them but if i can get things in advance it really helps to reduce the 'load' come November-ish when there's so much else to see to.

I'm dreading Xmas, we have little to spare and lots of family and friends to buy for, we usually buy for everyone every year and this year thats not going to happen (unless a job fall in our laps just in time) i have my parks vouchers to pay for yet (haven't even started paying them) and i have a lot less then i usually get to pay for. .......... What do i want for Xmas well TBH a better 2012 by that OH needs to get a good job (he can earn far more than i could now) and to get back to a more normal way of living (without robbing Peter to pay Paul). People get used to living in comfort and when its gone they cannot cope well i want the comfort back. Also yes i want a mild winter mainly because i doubt we could afford the fuel to feed the fire on our weekly pay ATM last year cost us a fortune 20 kilo of coal a day, i think we would have to get used to being cold if this winter is the same.

Floydie, i think that these days large families choose not to spend, or at least to reduce the 'spend' to just a few pounds - and then only for the children under 12 ..... that's what i hear all the time from my friends and aquaintances.
In this financial climate other people really appreciate being asked not to spend on them at xmas but they're too shy/reluctant to suggest it themselves. If i had a large family i'd most definately do that.
