Blackbird nest.

When I was tidying the overgrown bits of the garden the other day I decided to replant 2 half baskets on the fence with a couple of ferns & ivies as they'd been empty for a couple of years & I found the remains of a nest in one. I think I posted a photo on here of the blackbird sitting in it last year, it was a totally unsuitable site as it was fairly open to predators & under where all the sparrows sit but I think she may have been a new mum. I didn't look in or go near the nest then as I know this disturbs birds & they may abandon them but after a few days I noticed she'd left it & built one elsewhere, I thought it just wasn't suitable & didn't look in it. Now though I can see that there were 2 eggs in it, they appear to have been opened so maybe the squirrel or something else ate them before she could hatch them or stole the hatchlings, never mind, she's done well this year.
