Watching the footage of all the looting and burning going on in London and elsewhere I feel disgusted at the namby pamby tactics used by the authorities to control it.
A typical comment from the police was that, 'We will bring the offenders before the courts and ask for a sentence that shows we mean business'.
Well excuse my mirth but all that will do is give them a badge of 'Honour' to give them more street cred.
All of the commentators I saw on TV when asked 'What sort of people are they, the ones doing the mindless vandalism? All without exception said 'Young' but not one had the balls to say what categorised ALL the rioters and that was the word 'Black'.
Now as many here will know I am not in the least racist having many non white friends and family but it cannot be denied that those running riot on our streets are predominantly non white and I would hazard a guess, non asian and non oriental.
Where is the political will to use all necessary means including martial law, curfew, water cannon and the riot act so they can shoot looters and arsonists on sight.
A few examples would surely help to make the others think twice before terrorising the streets.
As to the 'Shortage of prison cells', well there are plenty of remote uninhabited Scottish islands where they could be dumped or even as in the case of Osama, in the sea itself.
I know this is not the proper place to sound off but I just feel the need to vent my feelings about this.
I do feel that our justice system is sadly lacking in teeth.
