A couple of years ago we had some nesting in our old compost bins...I could sit by the back door and hear them chewing the wood to make the opening bigger!

I have really become fascinated by the bees visiting the garden ever since, from the different species of bumblebee, cuckoo bees, solitary bees and honey bees....

I joined the Bumblebee Conservation Trust and get a quarterly newsletter, with information about bumblebee conservation, advice on identification (they have a huge gallery) and plants that will attract bees.

I was sooo delighted! I don't think I look much like a flower....unless they thought I was a tree....

I suppose they must die somewhere and at some time, so maybe it is not so odd. The rape honey is next to come. My neighbour keeps me supplied in honey. I just love it.
