I like seeing these. They had the local ones at the RAF Marham Air Show recently.

That Gyr Falcon is a handsome chappie! I like the Red Kite too, quite a few now in my area which is great.

They are beautiful birds, it never ceases to amaze me how much larger they are when you see them up close. We have a pair of Red Kites nesting close to us, I always thought they were about Blackbird sized.

Tawny owl at work the other week. It's head had some cobwebs on it so he/she must have been trying to get out all night. We caught it and kept it in a suitable cardboard box in a quiet place until the Wildlife officer came to take it away. She said they would check it over, feed it and bring it back for release in the next day or so.

Back to the centre she said. I must find out if this happened as I was on holiday after this picture was taken.

Its beautiful Steve, seeing its feather markings in your photograph, I understand now why they are so difficult to spot in the trees. I know we have some in the trees around us because I hear them calling, but I've only seen one once

Hope the tawny owl was O.K. SteveN, wonder how it got in? Lovely pics. Steve, especially the little female on the right in the last one! I saw a male sparrowhawk on the roof opposite us this evening, I've not seen a male here before, it swooped off after a group of small birds flying past, it might have caught one as it disappeared behind the houses & didn't come back.
