I know you have green fingers, Esther - I'm not good at cuttings - well, only some! ;D I wish I'd tried it as I'd hate to lose my Solanum. Fingers crossed!

Esther, you must be the most green-fingered person I've ever come across, so many wonderful plants and veg and all in perfect condition. I love looking at your photographs, such glorious colours I like your orange ?Hedychium, very exotic looking.

That's really kind! ;D I'll let you know later if I can see signs of new growth, Esther. It survived last winter, so it might come through.

Thankyou for your lovely comments Peony and Cherry - It is my Hedychium - it is in totally the wrong place! It lived in a pot for a couple of years and didn't flower so I bunged it in the garden - then it flowered Every year I think it will not survive but up it pops! Only had 1 flower this year. Lou - the variety of Butternut is Harrier - they didn't get any attention at all last year but did well - i have just used the last one
