hi i want to grow raspberries next year, never dont it before, so any advice would be good, verieties, when to plant, care. i will have to buy mail order so best mail order firm would be good too of and blueberries for my grandson, thank you, jean

Herbie, this forum is sponsored by Thompson & Morgan, so of course we would recommend them, and they have good descriptions of raspberries. Why not buy summer and autumn fruiting varieties to keep them going. It is sensible of you to get in early.

T&M would be a good start herbie ;D when you plant them make sure they get lots of sun and they are quite a shallow rooted plant too so plenty of support for them. They need a good rich soil too.
You can get primocane varieties that you don't cut back when you plant them, mine are Tulameen and i have had quite a few berries off the plants even though they have only been planted this year, so next year should be much better ;D
