I have a few self seeded tomato plants in the veg beds, they are loaded with green tomatoes. For the last few days I have been watching the blight rolling in across the fields so the chance of them turning red is slim. It seems a shame to waste them so what can I do with them?

Apart from the obvious chutney WF....I've no idea. I supose the first thing to do would be to pick them before the blight reaches them..

Thanks Lou, I had a feeling that chutney would be the only use but I was living in hope

I thought about that and that was typically how we fried tomatoes in the old days. They were just showing pink and large ones. My father had these, plain, without coating, with steak and onions for breakfast most mornings.
That is one of my favourite films.

I'm definitely going to give fried tomatoes a go. I might try it out on my veggie friends towards the end of the season too.
