Nope, he looked fat enough already! ;D I think he was pottering round the garden eating up any suet treats & mealworms the birds had left. I do have a special squirrel feeder box in the cherry tree with nuts in but he doesn't seem to have figured out how to open it!

That's unusual - they're so clever, aren't they!

We are still having problems getting peanuts....Called in our local shop and they still don't have any. Apparently the suppliers told them the last batch that came in from India recently were wet and when tested had high levels of protein?....think thats what she said. Anyway, they were sent back from whence they came.....now that it is known they are in short supply....they expect the prices to go up and up....they were quoted between £38-45 a sack. Don't know how big.

Don't know how big. Could she have said/meant "aflatoxins"? This is a highly poisonous mould which occurs on peanuts when they have become damp. I am still able to get peanuts from Wilkinsons and these state on the packet that they are "aflatoxin free"

I can still get them but they have doubled in price. I'm sure my birds know because they are now eating twice the quantity.
