Ahhhhh....isn't he cute Talking about nuts........for the birds ...Have you seen the price of them now ....Our usual source of peanuts has increased the price from £1 a bag to £2.....and I noticed in the GC yesterday that a bag containing about....2kg was over £12 . One of our local pet food shops has stopped buying the peanuts in as they cost £50 a sack.......we will have to find somewhere where the cost is reasonable....and soon......the feeders are nearly empty

Aware of the forecasted increase I bought 15kg of quality bird seed from Focus £12.99 -10%. The cost of Chicken food in fact all animal food is set to rise steeply Organic Chicken farmers will Fair better than intensive but it looks like our boiled egg will go up in price. Not for us though, thanks to 'the Girl :)s'

In mine too Peony Last time I bought nuts I noticed how much they had gone up. During the cold snap more people were feeding the birds so there was a shortage so the suppliers put their prices up. When the shortage is over I bet the prices won't come down again.

With the cost rising maybe those of you with space on your lotties should grow sunflowers.

With the cost rising maybe those of you with space on your lotties should grow sunflowers. I do merlin, it takes the birds no time at all to eat them. They go from flower to eaten in a couple of days. I'd need a few acres to keep my lot happy.
