Dull and rain at times, but not as much has we expected though. Certainly felt milder while out walking the dogs

Just watching Countryfile, some nasty storms on the way next week! I saw that too, at least we might get some decent rain in this area. John Craven was talking about the lack of rain in this part of the country and was at the River Mimram which is about a half mile from me and is fed from an aquifer, but the water company are taking so much water from the aquifers that its a mere trickle now. When I used to take my children to the river 40 years ago it was fast flowing and too deep for them to paddle in and had lots of wildlife.

There's guaranteed to be wind damage on this hillside when those speeds hit This area will have a lot of it generally too I wish we could fast forward to the end of January now No, make that end of March !

On the plus side in 10 days time we will pass the shortest day I'll be glad to see the days lengthen aswell The dark afternoons are getting on my nerves now. We've had lots of heavy showers today. I could see it bouncing off the garage roof ...
