Heavy rain in the night, but I didn't get wet when I took Henry out. The streams and fields are all flooded, though. Oh, and I could see a dusting of snow on the tops of the Quantocks and Exmoor.

Today I went to a place about 8 miles to the east of here - in the direction towards Swansea. After 6 miles there was snow on the hills, and then on the roadsides. There's none here, and these hills are higher than the ones over there. I was surprised to see such a difference in a few miles.

The rain stopped in a line from Peterborough to Suffolk and we are not getting it. Amazing how the rain misses us all the time.

I am fed up to back teeth with it, Cherry. This has to be the wettest autumn and early winter on record, for this region I wonder what your thoughts would be if you had spent that period of time staying in this region - i doubt you'd believe your eyes.

it is getting tiresome, but this time last year we were stuck in the snow and freezing temps., so I'd rather have it wet I think

This has to be the wettest autumn and early winter on record, for this region I wonder what your thoughts would be if you had spent that period of time staying in this region - i doubt you'd believe your eyes. When I lived in Galloway in Scotland, I never went outside for months without wearing wellies, a really waterproof raincoat and a bucket in my hand for doing all manner of jobs with the animals. It was practically the wettest place in Europe. The sheer beauty of this place where I even had fishing rights on the River Ken made up for the rain.
