I didnt think they took as cuttings floydie. As a bulb I usually leave them to die back naturally, feeding the bulb for next year. Have you taken cuttings before with success?

2 years to flower i read. That sounds a bit optimistic to me, but if it is that quick I might give it a try Have you already got E. 'Sparkling Burgundy' Floydie? If not I could send you a couple of leaves.

Do they take yonks then? They take quite a while to form bulbils...once they start growing the leaves form quite quickly....but as Floydie has said.....a while to flower.....Even without flowers the young plant are quite dinky and attractive....until last year's frosts finished mine off

However......I did buy a large Sparkling Burgundy earlier this year. I'm letting the seed ripen and am going to try them this time rather than cut up its leaves
