An odd coincidence today, my 10 year old grandson is learning about the Second World War at school and asked me if I had anything from that time he could take into school, so I've been sorting through a box of letters, photos etc I found after my mother died. One of the many photographs which my father had kept shows his Royal Signals' unit vehicles on a long dusty desert road with a signpost at the side of the road saying 'Sirte' and he's written on the back of the photo - "Finally entering Sirte after several days of fighting".

Let's hope that all these wicked Dictators are not replaced by religious extremists.

I was wondering what will happen about the Lockerbie man - Al Magrahi (sp) now that his protector is no more.

They will never know the other people behind the Lockerbie bombing now. It would have been handier for us if he had been kept alive and made to atone for his misdemeanours.

Cherry's right, and we probably won't find out the truth now - nor about Yvonne Fletcher either. Now there's a big furore going on about how Gaddafi and his son came to be shot! More gory picture on the TV News last night - I couldn't look.
