I've looked at some paint tins and terps but can't see TCE.

That's it G, I heard about it on the radio this morning, a bit worrying as it's in so many things. My brother spent much of his working life where carbon tetrachloride was used, which is another one mentioned. My OH says she doesn't trust any chemicals, even plastics. Recently I used some 'Gunk' a well known engine degreaser, I'll use ordinary parafin next time.
