I've seen more Ladybirds in the last couple of weeks than I've seen all summer, is this normal? Even after the frost they're still around, in clusters too. Hasve you seen them?

I've only seen the odd one or two while I've been cutting things back

They are looking for somewhere to hibernate, they will be coming out of the garden which is why you are noticing more of them.

So have I Merlin, every time I cut back one of the perennials I find more. I've never seen as many in previous years. I'm leaving some perennials for them to hibernate in, they like hiding in the brown curled up leaves

I saw one at weekend walking up the window of the cafe we had coffee in at Morecambe, haven't seen any in the garden recently but it's been quite mild hasn't it so they're probably still around somewhere.

I haven't seen any lady birds this year. I saw one small one last year, and that was the first for many years. I don't know why we don't get them here any more. They used to be very common
