It is the green plant on the left SueA. There are a lot of buds on it, but if it was a daphne, you wouldn't forget that. I can never smell any scent on a daphne Great pictures SueA, they are such cute wee birds

I think all the buds on the euonymus are just leaf buds Cherry , I did go out to look at my daphne & there are some flower buds on that, it's looking a bit pale, needs a feed .

The daphne looks fabulous. They can sometimes go yellowy looking, but I find if I get them into the ground they do well.
The RSPB sent an identification sheet in the post which is handier than the book I look up. I expect they sent you one too. I am now busy trying to name the birds. I was very bad before joining this forum and now I am just fair.

The female blackbird started building a nest in the conifer at the end of the garden yesterday, must have definitely been the first day of spring!

Peony I have only seen 2 blackbirds and a robin they seem to come in my garden about 4.45 everyday I've noticed that my blackbirds turn up a regular times throughout the day Joysie, they are always around at 7am when I put food out and again in the afternoon about 4.30 when they come to the bird table to feed. Sue, I've seen a wren flying in and out behind the bamboo in front of our side fence, there is ivy behind the bamboo and wrens nested there last year, so hopefully they will again this year. Also seen a couple of robins flying in and out the pyracantha on the back of the house so think they may be building a nest and there are blue tits going in and out one of the bird boxes with nesting material

You've got a hive of activity there then peony ! I've noticed lots of the birds including magpies & sparrows in our garden trying to rip twigs off the cherry tree to build nests but I think the tree's winning at the moment!

I have bird feeders and water in my garden to encourage birds. Lately, I'm noticing the magpies have taken over most control of the garden. last Spring, a pair of blackbirds built a nest in my clematis bush right near my house, and raised a family. It was fascinating to watch how industrious they were. Sadly, I don't think any of their chicks survived, between feral cats and other predators. It was a bad choice of location for them. Now I don't see so many blackbirds around. I see a couple of common pigeons and a pai of doves coming aound and the odd robin, but that's about it. The magpies are really flourishing and taking control, it seems.

Here we have a fair selection from house sparrows to red kites which are often seen circling overhead. i suppose our commonest visitors are the pigeons, magpies, jackdaws and the gulls. Always a few robins, wrens, blackbirds, bluetits and great tits. T he longtailed tits seem to be missing this year and just the occasional bullfinch and woodpecker. Plenty of chaffinches though. Nightime brings the bats right on cue at 10pm with an occasional snowy or barn owl. Not quite sure which.
