The world order is changing no doubt about that, but I grew up in the times of Russia America warmongering, every middle east conflict had America backing Israel and Russia backing the Arabs, but M.A.D ensured they always backed off from full conflict and I think/hope that will always be.

It's in the human psyche I'm afraid Louise. Just a thought, all the Chinese warheads cost money. How many US goods have you bought and how many Chinese goods have you bought?
If the Chinese succeed where Hitler failed, at least you as a woman will have equal rights in the paddy fields. It The 'other' lot win you'll have to wear a kibab ;D

Read that earlier today. Mad Max must like scaring folks. However there won't be much that we as a country could do about it without resorting to nukes which would of course be self destructive.
One comforting thought - no China would mean less cruelty to animals.
I'm afraid that unless you have experienced it first hand the fact is that westerners cannot understand the mindset of orientals and certain Middle East nations. They are so unlike us in so many ways and I doubt if that will change for many generations yet.
