Been out for a nice walk around a nearby mere this morning, only thing is, there's no mere! This was taken at the same time last year, North Shropshire is suffering the same as the South East with drought.

We've had your share, Merlin, it hasn't stopped here, we've had weeks on end of wet weather.

That does look odd Merlin, has someone pulled the plug out! ;D Still looks a lovely place but it is worrying.

I forgot to mention that there was a notice of the fence saying that soon the area will be inhabited by cattle. The idea is common nowadays as they're ideal for keeping down bracken and even birch. The hills behind me have used this method for a couple of years and it works very well. It's so nice to see them grazing wild but dog owners have to take care. OH keeps hoping they'll introduce 'Highland' cows.....forget what Rosie calls them.

Almost Christmas and yesterday I had to get the hose out and water all my pots, It was a pot of wilting pansies that alerted me.

I looked back over the last ten years of rain fall, this year is way down on previous years.
