Just to put the record straight, it has rained. Sun's out now.

This English weather is so fickle, this morning we've had torrential rain and winds, but now we have sunshine and blue skies, the wind was so bad it's taken 3 fence panels out

We've had torrential rain and gales all day - and, my ceanothus is uprooted I said it would be that, didn't it ? And, a photinia These shrubs are only about 7 or 8' tall, not exactly towering giants They're both in the back and that's where's hit when the south westerlies come slamming up the channel

Gale force winds, monsoon horizontal rain, a lake formed at the corner of the street where a drain was blocked & everyone's bins & rubbish have been blown down the road. Went out in my wellies & parka over my pyjamas first thing in the dark & collected 2 bags of the neighbours' rubbish from our garden & the road in front to put it in our bin before the binmen came. Sleet & hailstones this afternoon followed by sunshine & more gales, everything in back garden now listing to the left! Hope everyone is safe, some nasty scenes on the news of roofs blowing off & trees blowing over, just the odd fence panel gone around here.

If you get sucked up in a tornado Rosie click your heels together 3 times whilst saying 'there's no place like home, there's no place like home...' ;D Stay inside & stay safe, hope you've got everything fastened down outside!

Well, all I can say is that you've managed to replant uprooted shubs before - so go on, have a try. You've nothing to lose, and everything to gain.

It's been horrendous - gales and torrential rain. It's eased off slightly now ... The river is swollen.
