When I arrived home yesterday I found a bag of sets from T&M. The worrying thing is that they were ordered last September and I've no recollection of it. Here's what I received; 10 Lady Balfuor tubers and 10 Pentland Javelin. That's .30p each what was I thinking of? I should have gone to Wilkies like Steve. I could split a few. but I'll need advice on how to grow them and when. Do I chit or not. I haven't space to make proper ridges so what depth should I plant them. Also bearing in mind I can fleece them, when to plant. I can only assume that I've ordered two varieties to get succession.

I just had a look on that old forum Ron to see if you posted about ordering them but can't see anything
This is from the potato council site
This variety has white skin and white flesh. It is Soft with a waxy texture. This is a First Early variety.
Pentland Javelin is suitable for:
Salads
and this is from Marshalls
Lady Balfour Seed Potatoes (Second Early) Excellent resistance to the major potato diseases including blight scab and virus Y, it also has strong resistance to eelworm. The variety also gives very high yields even in soils with low fertility. This means that in most seasons it can be grown without the use of chemicals and with little fertiliser making it easy to grow and ideal for organic culture. The pink-splashed tubers are very attractive with tasty creamy flesh which is moist and firm meaning Lady Balfour is best suited to boiling and roasting.
so they do sort of follow on

Thanks for looking back Steve, weird isn't it, I still have no recollection. The only thing I can think of is that it was part of an earlier delivery. Anyway your info is very helpful and the BBC is so good I've saved it. I'll plant them where my Broadies were as the've disappeared and don't look like they'll regrow.
