All ready and raring to go tonight ;D We are only going to our neighbour's next door but it promises to be a good evening. Just hope I can stay awake. In the old days it would be a marathon event doing the rounds first footing. Of course that was in Scotland. When I lived in England we would sometimes be doing a conga down the street with all the neighbours joining in. I'm all for the more quiet life now but will still see the New Year in with a drink in my hand (prior to it disappearing down my throat). So, what do you all do if anything?

We used to do 'first footing' with a piece of coal & visiting the neighbours when I was little but nobody seems to do that now. We just have to put up with fireworks going off everywhere so even though we'll probably be in bed we won't be asleep, we'll be watching Jools Holland or something on T.V.

SP Do you remember when we got Rev I M Jolly on TV and would laugh because English TV actually had the Archbishop of Canterbury.
I remember those Hogmanays too. Our house was a mecca because I was new to this country and had to be shown how to celebrate Scottish style. We sang beautiful songs mainly local Galloway songs. My father in law was a fine piper too.
