Ive just taken in 2 new born baby rabbits that will need hand feeding, poor things, mum has died . I'll try my best with them but there is never any guarantee with very young animals . I'll try and get some pics on the next feed (or toilet time).

I think you have a gift with animals Floydie. I hope i can have a gift with these two, I'm taking it one day at a time, each day is a mile stone with such little ones, so fingers crossed they make it through the night and into tomorrow.

Good luck Floydie, i hope the survive. You should be working with a vet, or become one yourself!! I always wanted to be a vet when i was little . They are still here this morning , now its a case of sterilising the bottle an teats, then warming the milk for a feed ;D

Just an update, the little ones lost 1g of weight yesterday so Ive switched to a milk with higher fat content and was feeding every 2 hours yesterday to bring the weight back up, they are now back upto weight (will be feeding every 3 hours now to keep them stable). I had to resuscitate the brown one after the first morning feed, he/she went cold and stiff after i brought him/her round it was gasping and had alittle blood come out of its nose (i cleaned this up), it then went stiff again so had to work on him/her more. It now back upto temp and had a feed half an an hour ago all seams ok.

That must have been frightening Floydie, hope it's alright & not damaged internally in some way. I remember giving a goldfish of mine massage to bring it back to life when it was floating & stiff, I was about 11, it came round & lived for a good while!

That was well done Floydie. I had to top up one of the pups with a bitch substitute milk as he was a bit weak. I expect you are using similar, maybe one for cats?

It was a very tiny amount of blood but it did shock me, i think it had a small nose bleed and blocked its aways off, there has been no more blood (touch wood) and it seams happy now. Im using Goats milk and will be adding probiotics (when they get here) to give them an added boost, i used lambs milk when i gave the pups top up feeds but we couldnt get it on short notice, baby rabbits dont take well to a sudden change of feed so its too late to change now. They are now on full fat goats milk and its keeping them full .

I used to use Lamlac for pups years ago, but these products have improved. I had my own goats for the springers.

Poor little things. I hope they survive. You're doing well Floydie. Many would have not bothered.
