I arrived during this bad winter from Australia for a visit. The trip was a wedding present. I came from the ship which docked at Tilbury by rail to London, wearing my smart new midi heels and new coat which my Grandma had bought me. I soon learnt that they were not quite enough. There were no trains running to Scotland, so we flew up to Renfrew airport in a BEA Vickers Viscount.

Today we sat on the swing bench admiring a crocus! I'm tempted to say well pay for this, but let's hope we get another extreme winter......the opposite to last when we had a decades worth. Don't mind a few short spells of snow/frost but we're on the right side now so fingers crossed for an early Spring

It now transpires that this was actually in Japan, not Austria.
