I noticed today that if I was logged on but didn't post my user name disappears from the 'users online' list after a while. Is this something on the forum or is it when my laptop goes into sleep mode?
It's good for me because I know I don't have to log off. I'm just curious as to which one it is.

I've not come across that one before WF? I'll look out for it

I only noticed because I was logged on on my laptop and then went upstairs to my desktop, after about 15-20 minutes my user name disapeared. I wasn't logged on upstairs, I was just a guest.
When I finished working I came back to my laptop and woke it up, it hadn't logged me off and my user name was showing again. I went up to my desktop and it was showing up there too.

The logged on cookie is stored on whichever computer you are on when you log on...so if you are logged on on your laptop then go and look at the forums upstairs on another computer you shouldn't show up as being logged on in that one as well

I was referring to the ‘Users online’ in ‘Info Centre’ on the home page.

I did a bit of experimenting today, it seems if you are not active for 15 minutes your username automatically disappears, as soon as you are active again it reappears. Quite clever
