Hello, Have a hedge in front garden that last year developed a sort of white powder coating (I presume a fungi of some sort), hitting it with a hose pipe would wash it down and would be quite a bit on paving underneath but would never solve the problem. Was hoping the winter would see it off but still persists, hasn't spread to any other hedges/pplants nearby so not sure if specialised to this hedge. Have included couple of pictures below - any help on what best course of action to take much appreciated. Many thanks, Lawrence

It looks like woolly aphid Meakinsl. My Pyracanths gets this too but it doesn't seem to affect flowering or the amount of berries. I cut out any weak looking branches when I prune it. Giving it a feed in spring could help, but someone else on the forum might be able to give you better advice There is probably a spray for woolly aphid but my plant is far too big to do this.
