Well Graham and i had an interesting afternoon.... We nipped outside to measure how tall my gargoyle was.....and locked ourselves out of the house No keys no mobiles, no jackets, in our slippers and it was snowing . We had to walk up to David, our neighbour up the hill and borrow his phone to call Emma, she has a set of keys and came to rescue us David and Janet were lovely, they made us some tea and we sat in front of their lovely warm log burner till Emma arrived. It's very ironic and the front door is usually very stiff to close but today it decided to close easily ;D That'll teach us not to go out the door without any keys ;D ;D

Oh dear Rosie - glad you have lovely neighbours I remember one morning when I had gone to do the watering in the greenhouse - rollers in my hair and wearing gardening clothes- Barry was going down to the allotment. He came down the garden to tell me he was going - when I had finished the watering and went to open the french doors to go in - silly b****r had locked the doors We have lovely neighbours too - I went next door to use Wendy's phone to ask my sister if she would nip to the allotment to get the key I didn't let him forget the incident for quite a while ;D

Oh dear. That should be a lesson to us all. I think I should find a hidey hole for the spare key.

Well that's a bummer Rosie. Good thing you have nice neighbors. I always have a house and car key attached to a plastic necklace and I wear it everyday. I've locked myself out of my car and my house a lot of times (I was very absentminded in college) so I made it a habit of always having keys on my person.

Good job you have friendly neighbours Rosie, luckily our doors don't lock unless we use a key so I just have to make sure to remember to lock them! I like jrae's idea of keeping a key on a necklace, I wouldn't hide a key outside the house as I'm sure a clever burglar could find it.
