Came home from the hospital today to find that we have been getting letters and "invites" to attend a local vegan and animal rights group meetings and such. They have actually been harassing us since last summer for raising animals.
They are against any form of industry/business involved in animal byproducts. Last year they started to try to stop us from milking goats (we make goat cheese) and having the sheep sheared.
I really don't know what to do with these people. I don't have anything against vegans, I am one in a way. I do eat cheese and such but I avoid any kind of meat. It's like they're practically telling us to dump our animals someplace so they can be happy.
I'm not tough enough to haul a shotgun and threaten to shoot them while they are posting protect animal rights posters on my property's perimeter fence (it's what some of our neighbors have ended up doing since one of the people nearby have a poultry farm and one has a cattle ranch).
What's the best way to get rid of them do you think? Talking to them nicely and asking them to quit badgering us doesn't help. I think it's because we're nicer than most of the people they harass that's why they haven't quit bothering us yet.
My kids also told me that there was a woman who came into the school shouting stuff about people having animals on their property (farms, ranch and the like) as "evil people that are just the same as serial killers" and lots of other awful stuff that my son said he'd rather not repeat.
After a while the teachers were able to ask the woman to leave but now my kids have been asking what makes us "bad" and why taking care of animals makes us "bad."
I'm tired of being patient and understanding when they come tramping around our place and bugging us and the people who work for us. Do you think it's okay to get a lawyer and have the court do something so those buggers would quit harassing us?
