its a malaware virus. It hijacks the icons of your internet security than offers free updates until you get to an holistic heal then it asks for your bank details etc. I had it last month and had to get a new spyware anti virus package.

also another security one to be aware of:
handbag gets stolen. Mobile phone has OH number. OH gets a text saying 'cant remember cash point pin' OH replies and thief has your card and pin.
it gets worse.
Mobile phone has 'home' in the phone book. thief rings finds no one is in and has your keys too. Probably you will have an envelope/driving license with your address. Return home to a burgled house. This has happened at least 8 times in Humberside police region in 2010.
