This is hubby's need a beer after a long day space. I was thinking of planting Cannas here and there and asked if I could put some in here. He said whatever you want as long as it looks nice. Do you think I should squeeze in some cannas for a bit of color (and flowers) or let it be? I was thinking flowers might make the space too kitschy, it's his beer corner after all.

That's my kind of garden and looks great as is, but if you are going to put a few Cannas in then make it something exotic looking like 'Durban'

I vote for a bit of sqeezing too, I have one with very deep red, almost black leaves, that might look good amongst the green. It looks lovely, I could manage to sit there with a beer at the end of the day

Cannas would be just perfect there. I love all the green, and cannas will enhance the tropical greenery without going over the top.

I couldn't find cannas with dark leaves in the GC plants I mean, just seeds so I just planted them in tiny pots today and hope they grow.

That would be ambitious here jrae, but where you are I suppose anything grows and fast.

I checked the neighbors and the GC and no one had any bronze or variegated cannas so I had to try seeds. I did soak it in warm water for 2 days after I nicked the seed coat. Hope I get at least a few plants. I did plant all the seeds from 5 packets so if all of them show up I can always share with the neighbors or put cannas all around the fence to replace the sunflowers as I find it tiring to keep on replanting patches of sunflowers here and there every weekend.
