I love all the driftwood you both have ;D Once we were over to Rothesay on Bute and we found 2 big lumps of driftwood, i think it was Kilchatten Bay or was it Ettrick Bay... anyways we brought them both home and i just need to find a spot for them in the flower garden ;D

do you treat all of them every year Sue? I try to, they definitely get treated every other year. I like the sound of spraying them with decking oil every few years, that sounds a lot quicker than linseed oil and a cloth. Most of the large ones weigh more than me and I carried each one between 2 and 4 miles to reach a road, after all that work I don't want them to rot.

Message from OH - Nigel recommends Cuprinol spray - there's apparently a clear one.

A nice surprise today - I bought some Zephyranthes candida bulbs over two years ago, and all they did was produce scrappy leaves. Earlier this year when I was propagating Osteos to fill the gaps in my Osteo bed, one of the Osteos rooted itself in the Zephyranthes pot, so I dug a hole and put the whole lot in the Osteo bed. Look what I spotted this afternoon!

Sorry I missed your post, floydie, I'll have a look. Here's part of the new planting round the Amelanchier.
