The rain isn't as bad as before, so we went off to visit our other farm lot two hills away. We saw some cows on by the road and me and hubby and our farm helper got out and checked their brand mark, they belong to the herd that had been stolen from. We had to call up the rancher on the cell and wait for him to get here with a truck so he can get some of his cows back. We met up with a botanist to do a quick walkthru of our new place so he can see if there are any endangered native plants/trees. He'll either relocate or mark them so we'll know we'd have to avoid pulling them up or damaging them in anyway. I found a spring during our walkthru, which is good news. We have a potential water source for irrigation here. And back home a large fan palm keeled over because of all that wind and our big water hole has filled up really quick. I hope all that water doesn't attract any crocs as we've had quite a few sightings in the area. Some of our farm helpers have been busy working on a pipe system to divert some of the water down into the orchard. I think the catfish in there are humungous already. Too bad I don't eat those kind of fish.

Those pictures are fantastic. You were lucky to find some of the stolen cattle. If that is the picture of them, they look settled and there are quite a few of them. The rancher must have been very grateful.

Fasciinating pictures jrae, will you have to clear the trees etc before you can farm on the new land?

Those pictures are fantastic. You were lucky to find some of the stolen cattle. If that is the picture of them, they look settled and there are quite a few of them. The rancher must have been very grateful. There was actually a man that was keeping an eye on us when I approached the cows Cherry, and he left when hubby pulled out his cellphone and started calling people. I was quite nervous that he might come back with a gun and chase us off for trespassing or something. Good thing no one bothered us. Not all of the cattle was our neighbor's though, some of them had a different brand. The local police said they'd take care of it though. All the pictures you upload are just always so gorgeous ! More please i love your garden ! Thanks twiams, as you can see mostly my gardening style is pop it in and leave it alone and hope it grows I'm just lucky to have a lot of poop compost ;D to go around. great pictures jrae, I love your stream, what a good find. To get some of your cattle back is a real bonus We didn't expect the spring as we haven't seen it first time we were there. Maybe it only has water during rainy season. We usually leave the native tree species alone which is not hard to do as in this case the only trees in the new place is the one near the spring, most of it is just grass and tangled shrubs. We didn't even see a lot of wildlife which is a bit sad, maybe because the only thing growing in the surrounding areas are corn and sugarcane so not a lot to eat for the birds and other small critters.
