As ugly as it seems this bug is friendly, it munches loads of aphids off your plants then turns in to a ladybird and munches loads more, plenty around about now

Nice pic., you can see all it's little hairy bits! I've never seen them in my garden either only seen them in books, but I'm sure there must be some around somewhere!

I found these last week (not my picture) on a viburnum leaf and found out they were shieldbug lavae

Never seen those before Grindle, they're colourful little creatures. I do see shield bugs though

They look more like ladybird larvae than ladybird larvae ;D

I must admit I thought they were ladybird lavae at first although they didn't look quite right, but I had to search for the identity. The egg cases were still there with them on the back of the leaf
