Well, what did you think? personally I thought it was really brilliant and very cleverly done. The only low point I thought was poor old Macca who should have retired from the singing part years ago. We all age. The two high points for me were the queen and James Bond parachuting in and of course the wholly unexpected lighting of the flame. mr. Bean was quite funny too. Well done to all concerned, GB is back on the map.

Well....
I'm very torn between wether i liked it or not,
I think the whole texting and phone thing was a bit out there, and didn't really fit well, it was only good for viewing at home, no way could anyone in the stadium see half of what was going on, and if they could i think they would have been confused !
However i liked the way they tried to show our history, and things, but the men dancing in top hats trying to build things i think, just looked a little odd haha. They put alot of detail in it that i think would have been lost to those in the stadium, again it's just not something you could really see if you were there !
The story part with J.K Rowling was really good, however the black things that were walking around did scare me a little and i still hate the child catcher !
When it comes to music some was good, but some of the live acts, like they chose dizee rascal to represent todays music and things was a bit The graphics and lighting was amazing, and alot of work must of gone in to it, however im not sure i'd like to know how much money went to it.
It was great that the queen got involved even if she didn't actually sky dive, but to be honest she didn't look very happy through any of it, Mr Bean did really make me laugh aswell.
I liked the design of the for the olympic flame cauldron too, very nice.

You are of course quite right twiams but then it is a bit like sowing a packet of seeds. Some come up and do well while others may come up but not thrive while yet others just seem to get lost.

I thought it was great. Loved the Bond bit with the Queen parachuting in to the stadium.....she didn't really of course.....or did she? Loved the industrial portrayal and the forging of the five Olympic rings. Very clever. The highlight was the sharing of the flame between the young sports men and women and then lighting the copper bowls that represented each country. When they all rose up and joined together in unity I was completely blown away. Beautiful, nay magnificent!

I thought it was great too, as twiams said though some of it was probably 'lost in translation' & I doubt a lot of the foreign audiences would have known what everything represented. I liked the industrial section with the forging of the rings, we were a steel town when I was young & my grandad & father-in-law & half the town used to work there. I loved Wiggo ringing the bell, Becks on the speedboat, the cauldron & especially the Queen & Bond, nice touch! Poor old Paul McCartney though, I think it was past his bedtime! ;D

I did like the MR Bean bit but the Queen and James Bond was brilliant. I cringed at the bit about the NHS, lets just say it ain't what it used to be...
