My lawn is full of weeds also a couple of ants nest i poured hot water over the ants nest now the grass is brown
Is there an easy way of killing the weeds without buying lawn and weed feed

I use verdone extra lawn weedkiller and spray it on.

I use verdone extra lawn weedkiller and spray it on. That's what I use also. Mind you there are always a few weeds so I don't bother too much as long as it looks green and tidy. If you have a lot of field woodrush (Luzula campestris) then a bit of watering with lime water will help to clear them. They prefer acid soil.

sweetpea i have a small lawn in my garden with dandilions also a weed with yellow flowers which spreads also buttercups what can i kill ants with in the lawn or will they go

Individual dandelions can be dealt with by a Touchweeder. Its a sort of big lipstick type thingy and you just smear it on the rosette. Either that or dig them out with a special tool. You can also paint them with Roundup. re the ants in the lawn: I have never got them to move on so I don't bother with them now. Ants in a pot can be got rid of by putting mint leaves on as they don't seem to like it much.

Royal mint is brilliant of getting rid of ants I've been plagued by them in the greenhouse just break of little bits and put around they soon move.[/color] That's very useful to know Lesley, I shall give it a try ;D
