Yesterday I did the Buckingham Palace tour and saw the State Rooms and the Queen's diamond collection which was on exhibition for the diamond jubilee year. I enjoyed this very much.
I also had lunch at The Ritz, so I can now add that to my collection. It was an experience, but I liked Le Manoir better. At least I knew what I was eating there.
Today I am making huge quiches for the WI Harvest tonight and have to fit my hair appointment in as well. I will try to remember my camera this year. I forgot it yesterday.

That sounds like you had a really good day Cherry, shame you forgot your camera but would you have been allowed to take photos at the palace anyway? Don't forget your camera for the harvest, it would be lovely to see some photos of that, it always sounds very impressive.

I would have taken photos of the buildings around Green Park. London can be beautiful in parts. I wish I had the camera when I was sitting on the wall at the Victoria Monument. The traffic on this roundabout was stopped. I wonder if this is normal now. No, I would not have taken photos inside the palace because this is not allowed and it is obvious really.

sounds as though you had a lovely day Cherry, and some good weather to go with it. I've yet to see inside Buck house, but have been around that area many times over the years

Lynn, if you know that area, I was amazed to see all the famous jewellers in one area, then leathergoods which were incredibly expensive, and walking this square, we passed Alexander McQueen, Prada, etc.
The day had many other aspects, and these are the things that made it special. It wasn't just doing the timetabled booked parts of the itinerary. I was like a foreign tourist in London. I suppose I am.
Esther, I got a bit "punch drunk" looking at the fabulous diamonds because there were so many and it got too hot so that I was glad to get back into the state rooms.

I won't be going to Sunny Hunny this weekend so I won't be able to wave to you Steve. Enjoy yourself. I am going to a barbeque at a friend's house. We should all get out this weekend because it may be the last of the heat for a while.
