I was hoping my cat would leave paw prints on my newly concreted floor a few years ago, but she didn't

Builder is supposed to be coming tomorrow to finish the job. Won't hold my breath. We would have left the prints, but sadly the edges of the holes would very soon crumble and the drive would very quickly break down after that.

Been up half the night with the most appallingly painful cramp, both calves, and in my feet and down the front of my shins. Agony hardly describes the pain.

Hope you're better today geumgrower and can catch up on some sleep. I sometimes get cramp in my feet and legs but it's quite mild and only lasts a minute or two, and that's enough.

Drive repaired and the cats are firmly locked in until it dries, this time. Cannot see the repairs either, which is good. There was enough material to do the path by the compost heap as well.

Stupid thing yesterday, managed to spill Chain saw oil on my trousers. Washed in various ways, but stain still there. Newish trousers too. Still wearable for gardening, so not a complete loss.

Have you tried neat washing up liquid allowed to soak in? shouldn't affect the colour but......
method certainly removes bike oil from skirt hems that get caught!

I hope you have recovered well from the cramps. I have never had them as bad as that but I do get cramps occasionally I get them about to start at night in bed, most times they go no further. I get cramp in my feet, especially the left one, but again, it goes away very quickly.

WD40 is an oil isn't it? the only other thought is a biological detergent with enzymes made into a paste. though often once a stain is washed the stain if not fully removed is 'set' sadly.
having said that one of my skirts has finally 'come clean' but I did have to suffer the indignity of wearing it. just in case you are wondering why I had so many oily stains, hubby used to leave his push bike in the utility area, right next to the fridge etc. He regularly [weekly] oiled said chain.

It is not mineral oil, it is plant based stuff these days, so petrol would not dissolve it. Tried everything suggested to no avail. Still wearable as working clothes, but a bit stained for walking round town. Still who cares? No one takes any notice of me walking and at the time I usually go there are very few if any other idiots about.

ah yes modern oils + grease. A nightmare for some of the older bikes that we have. and as you say who really looks closely. That would be me if hubby and I are out and he has put on an older jumper, complete with paint/oil/grease stains and welding burns.

****** workmen unplugged the freezer in the garage on Friday so a lot of expensive stuff is now defrosted.

One thing after another geumgrower! Can you claim off their insurance?

I think they should pay for the defrosted food geumgrower. They should really have told you they were going to unplug the freezer before doing it.
As for clothes, most people I see these days look as if they've just fallen out of a skip.
