The huge earthworks in the shape of a female form over the last year and a half near where I live from the spoils of a surface mine is to be opened by the Princess Royal today. Open to all from Wednesday. Looks pretty spectacular too. Glad the weather is superb today. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tyne-19458150

That is excellent Steve, but only to be seen at its best from the air by the look of it.
I thought you were going to show us a big sculpture like The Angel of the North, which I quite like.

I saw it on the news, it looks good from the air as Cherry says but just seems like a waste of money paying an artist to produce a few lumps on the ground which a good landscaper would have no doubt done a lot cheaper! ;D

I visited Northumberlandia on Sunday morning and took a video from the highest point. The open cast mine will eventually be all landscaped too.
I enjoyed the visit as it really is something to behold and can only get better as it matures. If you listen carefully, you can even hear a little scamp exclaim "there's Mc Donalds!"... the sooner any trees grow up in the way the better!

The head looks pretty impressive close up too doesn't it, it should look very good as you say when it's settled in & there's more landscaping around it.
