Is there any way to force MS Word to use the English UK Language/Dictionary only? And not the English US version? Because my word processor uses both! even if I keep telling it to just use the UK version. I’m working on several documents actually translations from another language into English (UK) geared for publication in your part of the world and it is a pain to edit each instance of say favorite to favourite, color to colour, I wish spellcheck flags all of it automatically to save me a bit of eyestrain.

I don't have a clue J, sorry. But i can see how that would be a bit annoying to have to change it all the time.

Uhm, hubby has managed to fix it but when I asked him to show me it all went in one ear and out the other... I was hoping to understand how to fix it as I've asked the same question in another place and they want to know how it's done...but I'm pretty hopeless when it comes to these things

Go to Tools Language Set Language and Check UK English. This automatically changes the Dictionary to proper English as what she is writted.

Only a useful tip if it works. I know nothing about Laptops. I only know about the Word thing as I had the same problem and was told how to solve it and wrote the answer down.

That's a shame - I hoped you might be a techie! I think I need a live-in IT expert. I'm hopeless at sorting out problems.

I am not a techie, but there are a few things which I can do, mainly because I have had to do them and my grandsons are rather good at these things. One can always ask.

Indeed yes - I can do 'defrags' and even clear out my 'browsing history' and 'cookies' on occasion...my laptop still freezes up though.
